Our Story & Reach

RIVERBUG began in Sabah as Traverse Tours Sdn Bhd in 1995, helping introduce white-water rafting and outdoor adventures to the region. In 2004, we expanded our rafting and outdoor experiences to Gopeng, Perak. Today our experiences span river adventures, kayaking, cultural visits, island activities, nature stays, and group programmes.

Mari Mari Cultural Village offers an opportunity to learn about the traditions and daily life of Sabah’s communities. Through guided visits to five traditional homes, cultural demonstrations, local stories, and hands-on activities, guests can gain a deeper appreciation of the region’s heritage.

Safety, People & Stewardship

We aim to make every adventure welcoming, well planned, and respectful of the natural places and communities that make it special. Our teams provide guidance and activity briefings, and our guides receive ongoing training in rafting, swift-water rescue, and safety procedures.

Our operations use activity-specific equipment and carry out environmental and operational risk assessments. On the Padas River, satellite communication supports contact in a remote setting. Facilities, safety arrangements, and participation requirements vary by destination and activity; contact the provider for current information before booking.
